Baseball: Fifth Inning Surge Leads Germantown Academy Over Haverford School

FORT WASHINGTON -- Will Irons '24 had two RBI and John DiLello '24 added another as Germantown Academy notched a 4-1 win over Haverford. The Patriots improve to 10-14 on the season and earn their third Inter-Ac League win of the year. 

Starter Aidan von Zuben '24 went 6.1 innings and struck out seven to earn the victory. Sean McGettigan '26 was able to record the final two outs to seal the result.

GA fell behind in the first inning after the Fords scored on a single to right field. 然而, they leveled the game in the bottom of the inning when Tripp Capers '24 scored on a passed ball. 
 
The game remained tied until the Patriots got three across in the bottom of the fifth inning. Catcher Alex Myers '27 got things started with a lead-off single before being replaced on the base path by Charlie Wetzel '27. 没有一个, Wetzel advanced to third on two passed balls, Capers and Lucas Albert '26 were walked to load the bases. Irons reached on an error, scoring Wetzel and Capers before DiLello brought in Albert on a sacrifice fly.
